This was the Pittsburgh-Columbus main line which later became B&O (Baltimore & Ohio), then C&O (Chesapeake & Ohio) until the line and the depot was abandoned in 1983. The line during it's prime would have up to 37 trains passing thru on a daily basis. The depot, built between 1916 and 1917, is one of the last ones remaining on the line. The tunnel which passes under Arch St and E Main/SR147 is built out of sandstone between 1864 and 1870.

I love coming here, it's a beautiful reminder of times past and a society that respected their follow person. Things made and things purchased were done with integrity and craftsmanship that you just don't find today.
This open air Depot serves the community well year round.
Nice place
The once functioning depot now turned into a monument of days passed, inside you'll see plenty of history showcasing the industrial Era of Barnesville. The building itself is a piece of history too!
