If you look at the tempe.gov website for Joyce park, it says there is a basketball court for play. Sadly, it looks like you need reservations to go in and use it. It was fenced off when I went to check it out. The fence, however, can come in handy. If you do want to play, at least it keeps the ball from rolling too far. It had about 4(?) hoops to play with so room for multiple players! However, for some reason though, this court gave off a drab vibe, perhaps from the surrounding sand and how relatively tightly the hoops were packed together.
