The funeral director, Joyce Herzog is HORRIBLE and UNPROFESSIONAL! She was extremely friendly when the family first met with her, once the family paid for services and questioned her on conflicting information that was given to the family she became very rude and spoke poorly of other funeral homes and even went as far as to claim she \gave us\ a viewing that we absolutely PAID for. She told us we could not have a funeral for 6 weeks because it might take 10-14 days for cremation and she would not schedule with the cemetery until the ashes were back. When the family contacted the cemetery we were told the funeral homes should contact them immediately to schedule our services. The general manager became involved and apologized. He was extremely helpful and professional. We had our father’s ashes back in 3 days and we contacted the cemetery on our own to set the services. I would not recommend the Bastrop location, which has a contract with Bastrop County maybe that is why they treat people the way they do. No mourning family should have to deal with an unprofessional and rude funeral director during an already stressful and trying time.

I recently had the honor of providing the funeral service at this funeral home. I found the staff to be warm, helpful, and well-organized. They provided the audio and visual components, as requested by the family, in a seamless manner. They were very responsive to family and to me, as the Chaplain. The facilities themselves were beautiful and provided the kind of atmosphere that is comforting and impressive. I would readily recommend this funeral home to families in this area.
