It was the fresh sushi and a sit down restaurant that brought me in. The market had a fancy vibe in it with the handwriting title to every section. The food looked like they were mostly organic and locally grown. The prepared food looked great. I was about to try out the potato soup but couldn’t find any cheaper option other than a 7.99 small container. Yike! I ended up not getting any because it was too expensive for a cup of soup. They seemed to have everything here. The milk was oddly hidden behind the numerous selections of wine bottles. I just bought a few items which were about the same price as Walmart and left. Anyway, my friend and I will be back to try more prepared food.

I picked up lunch yesterday with some co workers at the Cafe inside the store, the food was delicious and the workers were so helpful with any questions we had. After lunch I took a walk around the store and they had a great selection of local products that are hard to come by at other grocery stores. I will have to make it a point to come back soon!

They have an amazing selection of dairy-free cheese, and a solid stock of other quality dairy-free items (except cashew milk ice creams, which can be found elsewhere). They also have a lot of gluten-free options; the bread I bought there tasted very fresh! Their produce was of good quality and freshness, too. Staff was friendly. There is a rewards card you can sign up for online or at the service counter, which is good to have as the store is on par with Whole Foods in terms of price. Overall, this store is a good choice for people with dietary restrictions who want to shop local.

Alexander’s Highland Market is the only place I can shop in the Prairieville area and have access to all my organic and natural food needs met. It’s a beautiful store that is well taken care of. The shelves are fully stocked. Staff is attentive. And the prices are more competitive than Whole Foods.
