Great structure and asset for the city. The dock was built in the 90s but the canopy was added last year to offer shade for visitors. Stands tall over the river because the water height fluctuates dramatically every spring. Welcomes dozens of riverboats every year and people from all over the world. It really is the city’s other port of entry after the airport, though boats currently don’t offer Baton Rouge as a final destination, just a stop on the way to New Orleans and Memphis. Would love to see service just to New Orleans and back! It’s also beautiful at night.
