The BEST BEST Biryani in town. Very flexible and friendly and warm service and extremely affordable. Highly Highly recommend it. For Newbies to Indian food, make sure to ask the Chef for suggestions. The food is so fresh. And lot of effort has gone in to making the delicious food.

The ongoing pandemic has definitely taken a toll on a lot of businesses and public places since a consumer’s mindset to buy anything outside of essentials or to visit a public place like a park or beach, has crippled down significantly. Now by living with what has become the new normal, it is commendable on how these businesses and public places continue to remain open and cater to the general public by following the safety standards. It is now all the more important that we as customers, support these heroes during these dark hours to mankind. We had craving for Biryani and since our relative was in town for Thanksgiving week, we decided to try Bawarchi at Jersey city. We made our orders through phone for Ulavuchaaru biryani, Panner biryani and Paneer Tikka Masala and were told a 20 minute prep time. The parking for this place is very tricky as the street is wicked for parking availability and you will never know when a No Parking board will appear at what place and have to be careful not be ticketed. The restaurant seems to be only serving To-Go’a currently as it was completely empty and only had the carry out bags and the person who was taking orders through phone. He acknowledged my arrival but just continued taking orders on phone and I waited and waited. As soon as he hung up the phone, I picked my bag myself, placed on the counter and asked him to check me out sooner so that I can escape a parking ticket and he seemed to show no remorse for having me waited for a simple thing. We brought the food home and everything was super delicious. Since Bawarchis are usually known for their super spice levels, we ordered a Medium spice on all of them. The food was great but I wish we had done the High spice as it lacked a bit of kick.
My first visit here, two years ago, was a random hunt for an Indian restaurant that was open late. Wandered down Newark Ave and everything was closed except Bawarchi. Been coming here ever since. Definitely become a fan of their Biryani. This place gets orders for delivery from as far afield as Elizabeth and NYC. Yes, the place looks rather rough around the edges, to say the least, but the food is good and the staff are great.
Been coming to this place for years with my boyfriend, always has amazing food, great place to come with friends and eat good food.Today we went for my boyfriend's birthday and Joseph his brother were so hospitable, really made his day special. Anyone wanting good food and made by good people definitely come through
