Glenda and Adam really helped to inject bonus fun into my trip to Oakland. I was able to rent an aluminum Giant Defy 2 (Tiagra) for 46 (24hrs). Everyone in the shop was very friendly, knowledgeable and eagerly set me up with everything I needed, to torture myself in the hills above Oakland.

Good bike shop! I have had them service my bike a few times, and they are always fast and fairly priced. The staff likes to teach about bikes. The selection of products they have OS pretty limited, so not the best place to buy a bike unless you have tried out several models and know that the one you want is one they carry.
Great service and knowledgeable Clay! Staff here have gone out of their way a couple of times for me, from taking quirky questions and orders by phone, to helping me load and unload a bike from the roof of the car. Operations seem like they might be a bit chaotic at times, but I'd say very highly recommended by me for Bromptons and Cargo Bikes.
I live nearby so go often. Light & humorous vibe. Very easy and patient transactions and exchanges. Never used their service but from conversions seem to know their stuff.
Rented a bike for the day form their Jack London store. Lots of great advice on routes and places to visit. Great choice of bikes. Option to take all extras (repair kit etc.) at no extra cost.
Best place to get your repair or build. You'll get the competent attention you expect from a high-end shop... but somehow never get. I don't know a lot of bikes. Don't want to spend time on it. I just ride them. I've been taking my mountain, road, and touring bikes there for couple of years. John has rebuilt both the road and touring over that time as things get worn out. Basically, we have an agreement to put the best (for me) available gear on, and he's been doing an excellent job of that.
This is a stellar bike shop with great technicians who have kept my daily transpo in top shape for a couple of years now. Thanks guys. Excellent work.
this bike shop is great . i have been coming here since they opened . john is really cool dude very down to earth so are the rest of the staff. i can go on and on........... bay area bikes kicks ass. get your bike fixed there they are honest . you will not be let down at all. another thing i like is that the people that work at bay area bikes are just nice folks to the customers ...... not like some shops have snob jerks. not this place
