I very much like the selection of yarn. This is why I decided to shop for a new project. As I entered the store an employee asked me if I double masked. I had not, wearing only my regular, homemade mask. I have no problem putting on a second mask but they way this was presented to me, that's where I have a problem with. After I told her that I did not wear a second mask, she sighed heavily and said "It's on our website that you need to wear two masks". She was clearly annoyed. I don't know about others, but I generally DO NOT check websites of stores I have been to many times. So, I had not checked their website either. She turns around and hands me one of their surgical masks. Wearing two masks now, I checked on a few yarns, bumping into other customers. Per the stores sign, customers have 20 minutes to decide what they want and to complete their purchase. I spend more time trying to avoid customers than looking at yarn. I left frustrated and without yarn. Maybe the owner of the store should be more concerned about how many people are let into the store than having their employees point out that you should have checked their website before coming in. Maybe the owner should train their employees about proper customer service. Making it obvious that you are annoyed with a customer is the wrong way to interact with those who pay your bills. I left the store, went to another yarn shop and spend a little over 100 there. Not going back to For Yarns Sake.

Sweet yarn shop with great selection and variety. First time I've been in since they moved...you'd almost never know!
They have gorgeous yarn, prices are standard for a LYS. I've been in a couple times, they've never been very bubbly or chatty, which is something I do want from a local shop. 5pm means 5pm, even if you are deciding between two hanks. I would have expected an assist to make a sale, rather than being shown the door 15 seconds after 5pm. I was comparing between 2 handpainted hanks for one with less green, and if they had asked and offered an opinion ("Is there a quality you are looking for in the yarn?" "Why yes, which one has less green to you? That one? Great!"), I would have purchased. Instead I was told "They will be here tomorrow for you to decide between". I'll drive to a more helpful shop instead.
It's a great Yarn store. The staff is friendly and wonderful and the yarn is beautiful!
This is my favorite yarn shop to date! Plentiful choices and great staff!
can't speak to the in-store shopping experience because we are not going indoors anywhere right now. It did seem like there were a lot of customers, but I also saw a hand sanitizer stand and lots of mask and distance signs. What I can speak to is the curbside service, which was excellent. I purchased a skein of yarn that turned out to not be the color I was expecting based on the picture online. One of the ladies on staff waited until they were fewer customers and then brought several skeins to the window so I could point to the one that was the right color. They were very patient with me and wound all of my yarn. Thanks to the team!
The gals running this shop were so friendly and knowledgeable! They helped this beginner select the perfect yarn for my project, and even took a look at the pattern and offered tips and encouragement. This shop is worth the drive it takes for me to get there for sure! I will defs be back.
