Wow! This place is a little gem! My daughter and I came to Garage Clay studio for a private lesson on the wheel. My daughter had previous experience and I did not; Claire and Elise were so accommodating to both of our levels. They thought of every detail including a little worksheet to help us brainstorm our ideas. The whole experience was so dialed. We loved shopping in the studio, experimenting and designing with clay, the awesome views of the Bridger Mountains from the pottery wheel and our final products from our lesson. I also worked with the owners of Garage Clay on a special ceramic project for a close friend of mine as she entered hospice. They took such care to make sure the designs were exactly what I imagined ( actually better!!) The entire experience of working with Claire and Elise on this project was exceptional.

Garage Clay is my local go-to supplier for all things ceramics, including clay, glaze, tools and advice! Claire and Elise are wonderfully sweet and knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge! I have picked up a few of my favorite tools from GC - especially their Mudtools metal trimming tool and Garrity foot tools. Claire and Elise have helped me with everything from picking the perfect throwing tools to expand my abilities to troubleshooting glazing issues. These are some of their in stock glazes that they helped me pick out, they even lovelier in person! I cannot recommend Garage Clay enough.
Wow, what a great night. Elise and Claire were so patient and helpful, and we came away with pieces that we're actually proud of. Never knew you could pack so much into two hours! Anybody looking for a great night should go in for a lesson! And anybody looking for a retailer should support these two!!

I would recommend anyone in the Bozeman area to go visit Garage Clay! Elise and Claire were so welcoming and very helpful during my pottery lesson! Having little experience with pottery, they did not pass judgment and took the time to explain and model proper techniques. Highly recommend pottery lessons from them!
My husband and I had ourselves a romantic Clay Day at the Wheel back in July and it was so fun! Claire and Elise have done a great job making their space cute and adding the see-through garage door in the back of the shop for the natural light and beautiful mountain views was super smart on their part. We threw a bit outside and then it started to get cold so we moved our wheels inside. We had never done anything with clay before but these two were the best teachers! Very thorough in their directions that anyone newbie would leave their place having made something to be proud of. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Such a fun night! Claire and Elise are such great teachers and make the entire experience a blast. Would absolutely do it again.
This was the best date night! Claire and Elise are so knowledgeable, warm, and created the perfect environment for first-timers to be creative and have fun. I felt guided while also given the freedom to create my own pieces. I would recommend over and over again!
