I had an exceptional experience with Erik Johnson of Matrix Finance & Accounting earlier this year. Unlike the other “big box” recruiters, he wanted to meet with me face-to-face (pre-Covid-19 of course) and he actually looked beyond my resume and into what I was capable of. He also wanted to get to know my personality to make the right match. Since I had previously spent nearly 20 years working in the staffing industry (in the front and back office), I knew his approach was unique, but I was also pleasantly surprised at the level of communication that Erik provided me. Once an actual job opportunity came up (much, much sooner than expected), he kept me in the loop and prepared me every step of the way. He identified a great company and instead of throwing a multitude of candidates at the hiring manager, he worked with them to show them what a good match I was for the role.
