I wanted to donate my hair so I decided to do the deed at Weldon Barber (Bellevue). I booked a Weldon Signature Head Shave and a regular face shave. This was my 3rd visit. I had a face shave and signature face shave during the previous two visits with two different staff. This time it was with Cham. Oh man, what can I say? Cham has a wonderful demeanor and is a great conversationalist. She was really excited to chop my hair off and commended me several times for taking the step to donate. Before I came in I called a few times and talked to a receptionist to make sure the barber would spend extra time to tie my hair in multiple ponytails and take photos. Apparently Cham had done it multiple times for clients. She more than obliged by taking pictures from multiple angles during different stages of the process. (She took 70 snaps!). She's really adroit and pays extra attention to detail. In short, she's a perfectionist. (She so much as pointed out that I needed to take a sip of water when I was a bit hoarse). Also providing a very simple but often forgotten advice, that I resist the temptation to touch my head and face until the end of day, (because it could deposit grime on freshly exposed skin), is the stuff of a seasoned artisan. I could tell that she really loved her job. Cham spent 2 hours on me although the website mentions that the services would take a total of 70 minutes. (She even skipped lunch so that she could wholeheartedly invest in giving me the best experience). A barber visit is supposed to be a spa-like experience for a man. Weldon Barber (Bellevue) through Cham meets that standard. (I wish I could relive the experience again :D). Please keep in mind that Cham is a Master Barber III so her services are premium. However, it's really worth the money. I highly recommend Cham.

The African American girl from the front is unbelievably aggressive. She is so ill-mannered it’s quite shocking. When we asked for the manager she replied quickly “I am the manager call corporate if you want”. She proceeded to even refuse to provide her name. Weldon encourages customers to supply feedback right? She’s very uncivil. She says she had a long day. What does that have to with us, customers don’t deserve to be treated in a hostile way because you “had a long day”. Someone from management please let her understand she’s an employee at Weldon and her demeanor should be reflective of employers. Weldon is pretty popular in our neighborhood. Learn to act friendly. Do not misrepresent our barbershop!

I returned for my second experience at Weldons. The second visit started out the same as the first, with the hairstylist walking in for work 15-20 min late again. I thought I’d give him a second chance as he was a nice guy and I wasn’t in a hurry. The hairstylist then left for a few minutes while I was seated in the chair to chat with his friend in the back room. The appointment finally started 25 min late. Towards the end of the haircut he asked how I liked it. I kindly asked him to fix a few spots and he acted annoyed and rushed. I feel like I can get a way better quality of appointment and haircut somewhere else in town for half the price. I am really sorry for leaving a bad review as I really believe in supporting local business. But I was really disappointed with Weldons. I will not be returning in the future.

For the measures to ensure that you are coming (deposit, text confirmation, and arrival call) I didn’t appreciate the appointment not starting at the exact time I booked. However, given the social climate I initially looked past this. Upon being greeted I felt as though I was not welcome at the shop, as I was met with attitude and a standoffish barber. She never even went as far as to formally introduce herself and I still don’t know her name (minus the handshake of course- which I do not mind during these unprecedented times). Immediately I was turned off. My haircut experience was not worth the money and I am extremely disappointed. I could hear other clients laughing and having a fun experience with their barber where as I could not wait to get out of the chair. My actual cut is, well... mediocre at best. I don’t know if I caught my barber at at a bad time or on a bad day but I am extremely disheartened at the service I received for the price and reputation. The cut isn’t symmetrical in the slightest and any request felt like an inconvenience. By the time I was done I felt as though I was just ushered out the door. I was really excited for this haircut but I am just extremely let down. Not even a hot neck shave? I work in a customer service environment, and as such I know how to make a person feel welcome and at ease. I will not be coming back.

I used to get my haircuts with Diana who was great. Since she left i tried to get a cut and my stylist never showed up in the morning. After waiting for 30 min they finally told me she had some kind of an emergency. Which is usually a BS excuse for not showing up, so they told me the next cut is on them. Few day later I scheduled another appointment as promised they gave me a free cut, but they gave me a trim instead. I told the stylists i want a short cut and she left all my hair. Just giving me a trim. When i say i want half of my hair off the top that doesnt mean a trim. Very disappointed!
