Waldorf was a great experience for my youngest daughter throughout her elementary years but she struggled in middle school with the favoritism her teacher showed to other students and she was often ridiculed and left out by other waldorf parents. The community was harsh and toxic once she got to sixth and seventh grade. The horrible and degrading dress code was only sometimes enforced and only to certain students. It often felt like a superiority competition between parents and there was not much room for original thoughts and alternate opinions between students. We ended up transferring her to public school in her eighth grade year and she appreciates what waldorf did for her as a child because it taught her to appreciate the beauty of the world around her but it definitely also left a bit of a negative mark on her. I would absolutely recommend WHWS for students up to fifth or sixth grade, but no longer than that.

Loved this school. Went here from kindergarten till 7th grade. I’m forever thankful that I was sent to this school where kindness, love, appreciation for nature and creativity was taught. When i transitioned into public school in 8th grade, I saw how different things were from the Waldorf school; how drama and discrimination didn’t exist at the Waldorf school. I truly believe the lessons I was taught from this school shaped me to be the forgiving and wise person I am today. This school allows for young children’s minds to explore all the wonders of the world, while teaching every day skills that you’ll use for the rest of your life! I highly recommend checking the Waldorf school out if you have a child with a big imagination and drive to know more about the earth and our capabilities as loving humans️

Coming from an East Coast public school, and having English be my third (not native ) language it was definitely something i had to transition into. My 2nd and 3rd grade teachers we're phenomenal along with my German teacher. She was the biggest sweetheart ever, sitting next with my handwork teacher. I must say i did enjoy woodworking as well ! Building and creating was something i was passionate about. Dear, ( i will leave out names for their protection ) Thank you for teaching and guiding me throughout my earlier childhood. However I felt constantly judged, miss read, and almost a feeling of jealousy you felt towards me. You often talked about my energy that others seemed drawn to. I will no longer let you visit me in my negative thoughts. Although you made me feel like an outcast, small, weak, not good enough, and you constantly made me feel as though i couldn't truly be myself...i forgive you. Not for you, but for my own well being. For me and me alone. (Side note ) Perfection doesn't exist. Heart open, arms outstretched embracing, feeling only love.

It's a great school, though not for everyone. You must have an open mind and heart.
