This is a fantastic place! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the exhibits and were amazed how much closer you could get to each area to take pictures as opposed to some of the other zoos we'd been to in the past. The layout is great where people aren't on top of each other. Cute gift store, and plenty of places to sit and eat or take a break. The petting zoo area is great for kids. Super friendly staff everywhere we went. Could not have asked for a better experience. We will definitely go back. Highly recommend!

Ofcourse we came on the day where it was kind of wet, cold and windy and muddy everywhere, but it was smaller than i was expecting. They do have cool animals such as bobcat, cougar, hyena, camel and etc. Unusual for small zoo. The prize animals of course are the reindeers.

To think the sleepy town of belvidere has such an awesome place like a Zoo is mind blowing. This zoo is awesome it has always been a place to take the kids. The Christmas things they do with the reindeer every year is magical for the kids. Take the day and go see this place.

I planned the Sloth Experience for my 11 yr old daughter as her xmas gift. What a super cool experience. We fed Flash butternut squash and zucchini while we pet him. The keeper was very kind and full of sloth facts. Although not huge, this zoo has many different animals including zebras and reindeer. Super cool place, I want to go back in the Spring.

Everytime we come here, it’s hard to leave we enjoy seeing all the different animals so much. One of the owners also gives very interesting and informative talks to visitors that are so much fun for families too usually at staggered hours but COVID times have prevented that for now I think But, sometimes when talks are possible, you can meet certain animals right up close that they bring around for you to examine up close! Neat! Only one improvement I could suggest is. There are information charts about the animals in the barns but they are worthless cause it’s way to dark to read them. Not sure how to fix that but needs fixing! So folks can learn what they are looking at!!!
