I cannot recommend Ben Hartenstein enough. He is an amazing guitar instructor! My lessons have focused on what Ben calls "guitar theory," which is guitar-oriented music theory. Ben teaches theory in a way that makes it accessible on the guitar. After three lessons, I felt comfortable with playing across the entire fretboard in each major key and we are now working on applying this towards improvising solos. I highly recommend working with this guy.

Because I run my own private tutoring service, I can tell you that Ben is a true master of teaching. He knows how to explain the guitar better than any teacher I've worked with. In general, I rarely write reviews (Ben didn't even ask), but in this case I feel compelled to share my experience. Let Ben teach you the cage method and you'll see just how quickly you'll be able to connect music theory to your playing, improvising, and writing. Enjoy.
