Felt super comfortable with my guide Adam through Timberline Mountain Guides. Was an exhilarating doing both Broken Top and Three Fingered Jack in less than 48 hours. I got to really experience my outdoor and gym rock climbing on a much bigger experience introduction. Was only a few pitches combined but definitely was very intense and exposed in a fun way. Highly recommend trying this out going from smith rock to alpine (either of these are great!)

I can’t say enough great things about climbing with Smith Rock Climbing School! We started with an Intro course years ago and went back for several additional days for both single pitch and multi pitch outings. Eventually we worked with them on skills for leading sport climbs so we could head out on our own. They can provide so many options for your climbing goals. The owners and guides are top notch and are there to support you and make it a fun adventure! Don’t hesitate to work with the best!
Pete Keane is the best! My wife and I started with Pete learning avalanche safety, and since that time we have climbed Mt. Hood, Mt. Washington, Three Finger Jack, and had a few climbing trips at Smith Rock. Today, Pete took our whole family for a day at Smith Rock for our kids’ (age 4 and 8) first day of climbing outside. Like always, Pete is able to cater his trips to the desired level of difficulty and it was a huge hit for us and our kids. Pete always provides a relaxed atmosphere focused on safety and fun. We always feel like we are learning and getting more comfortable in the outdoors with each guided trip we take. I would highly recommend Pete and his group for guides for your next climbing adventure!
Great day out with our guide, Cliff, today at Smith Rock with my family including our two young daughter (\u003c10). We have very limited climbing experience - but Cliff made it fun, safe and productive. It was a perfect trip for our first 'family' outdoor climb. My girls want to go back tomorrow - it was that fun. Smith Rock itself is a stunning location... highly recommend Cliff. He had a supportive style that worked well with our kids, and I was impressed with his finesse in juggling the outing. Thank you!
Pete Keane is the best! I have done several European alpine ski adventures with him. My recent Smith Rocks climbing trip was my first trip with Pete focused on rock climbing. Our three day exploration of the many routes of Smith Rocks was perfect. We did several multi pitch climbs to the top of some exposed pinnacles that were just within my capabilities. Pete does a wonderful job of matching the routes to your ability. And he will provide some instruction, insight and inspiration along the way. I plan on returning next year to climb with Pete again!
