The most amazing meal I have eaten in decades. I had the garlic lamb chops, house red wine, large order of tongue. Blue cheese. I also ordered the souffle before the meal, because it takes time to bake. Basque food is usually eaten in groups, however I was alone, so it was an extremely large meal. I did manage to eat nearly everything. As a child, I grew up on this food. Prior to 2000, I moved away from CA. I had been looking forward to this meal for many years. The service was VERY excellent as well! Thank you Benji's!

This was my first time here when you order it comes with, soup, salad, beans, green beans, tomato salad, fries, bread and salad! I ordered the shrimp scampi it was really good! Everything tasted good! I totally recommend them!

This is a must stop for us when we drive through Bakersfield, for lunch or dinner. The quality of the food and the service were always kept high. We like particularly the orange duck and the lamp chops. The plate of pickled beef tongue is my favorite! The steak was perfect and the peppercorn sauce amazing. The bread was slightly stale, salad, corn, soup, and beans were all top notch. My only complaint is the whole check system was old hand written style which makes it very difficult for splitting checks. The server Rebecca was absolutely pleasant, I would definitely come back.

For a start, Basque food is something unique to our Central Valley and Bakersfield has been blessed with many great Basque restaurants over the years. Being French rather than Spanish Basque puts this place in its own category. I can honestly say I've never eaten even a mediocre meal here. Everything they serve is to quality and perfectly prepared.
