I've been walking by Ensler Lighting on Solano for years, always noting the quirky and interesting things in the window and the old school look of the shop. Since we' re renovating parts of our house, I took in 2 light fixtures and was incredibly impressed with their creative problem solving; they came up with parts for one from their vast store of old lamps and odd pieces and sorted out a tricky rewire on the other. I was amazed that they called me 3 days later with everything done and a very reasonable charge! I ended up buying a set of sconces that I totally love-- early century, fantastic glass. I love this place!

I brought a lamp into Ensler lighting a few days ago for a light switch repair, and was called 2 days later with notification that the lamp was ready to pick up. I brought another lamp in to be repaired when I returned to pick up the original – a halogen lamp which had stopped working and that didn’t work when I replaced the bulb. The owner looked at the lamp, informed me that I had inserted the incorrect bulb (halogen lamps apparently can use either 12 or 120 volt bulbs and they are not interchangeable), and sold me the correct bulb with no cost for diagnosing my problem. Fast, courteous, and honest – will return again for any future repairs.

They really know their stuff. I had a modern very expensive lamp repaired by another store. It soon stopped working, so I took it to Ensler. The French gentleman repaired it and described what had gone wrong. Their repair was half the cost and lamp has no problems. I also buy my special bulbs here. A little more expensive than a hardware store but it's always the right bulb and best quality. Highly recommended.
