This place is incredible! They have everything you'll ever need for a home brewing or winemaking project... And so much more. They even carry 35 wine barrel planters for your new favorite shrub or tree. These are 50-gallon used wine barrels that are sawed in half. This is the best deal on these really beautiful, high quality, half-barrel planters across the entire East Bay! I have several of them. Homer (notably) and the entire staff are outstanding humans and know pretty much everything about everything stocked in this one-of-a-kind store. Oak Barrel is a true East Bay gem for the hobbyist or professional.

Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and generous staff! If you're at all interested in home brewing or winemaking, go visit! I spoke mostly to Homer, who was a true gentleman, sharing his winemaking knowledge freely and offering to help me test a sample of wine I was fermenting the next time I came in. He outlined exactly what supplies I would need and when for fermenting red grapes I had picked. I only wish I had stopped by Oak Barrel earlier this year, when I first got into home winemaking.
