A few years ago, I was thrust into the role of caregiver for both my mother and grandmother almost overnight. After calling several in-home care providers, I was beyond confused and overwhelmed. Meanwhile, the demands of caring for two of the mot special people in my life were growing exponentially. Thankfully, I found Assisting Hands of Potomac! Steve immediately made me feel at ease, and after our initial conversation I was confident, with him and his team as my partner going forward, that I found the ideal solution for my complex in-home care needs. Steve is genuine, compassionate, and a creative professional who is always eager to go above and beyond the call of service. Importantly, Steve and his team's extensive knowledge and experience ensuring my family was properly positioned to receive the maximum benefits associated with several insurance policies purchased by my Grandmother–to off-set some long-term care expenses–was incredibly valuable. Our care plans were executed by an amazing team of professional in-home caregivers and updated to properly reflect our changing needs over time. I am proud to share that in every sense, we consider all of our caregivers an extension of our family. Steve and his team at Assisting Hands are amazing. We had to bring in 24 hour care for my 92 year old mother within 24 hours when her caregiver got sick. Assisting Hands was responsive to our needs and asked questions about my Mom to ensure they got the right aides. Due to COVID, we could not meet them and they had to just show up at my Mom's place. The aides were amazing and kind. Always tracking my Mom's health. In the beginning, the nurse called frequently to determine if something was normal for Mom or an issue to address. The aides played games with Mom and ensured she facetimed with her children. It was so reassuring to know that she was not only being well cared for but treated like a person who deserved conversation and interaction. Her main caregiver is back and we are still using Assisting Hands for Mom's weekend coverage. If she requires 24 hour care in the future, we will certainly be using them. The entire team from Steve, to the nurse, to the billing staff to the aides are wonderful, caring and responsive. Highly recommend!
Assisting Hands has guided us along this new journey of needing a home care companion. They provided much needed information, forms and answers to all our questions to get us started.
