Glen Echo Hardware is my first stop for anything related to hardware, yard maintenance, or repairs. It's a physically small store but, rather amazingly, they have almost everything you need. Best of all, the staff gets you in and out fast (compare this to lousy Home Depot) and makes sure you get what you need (again, Home Depot is full of know nothings vs. Glen Echo Hardware staff who are very knowledgeable). BTW, Glen Echo has mulch, wood chips, bags of rocks for hard scaping, and propane tanks -- although they could do a better job advertising that they have these much needed items! I am SO glad they are here in the Cabin John/Glen Echo neighborhood (so I don't have to go you know where).

My dad and I were just discussing great hardware stores and we were talking about Glen Echo Hardware and what a fantastic store it is. I said, \I hope they survived covid.\ I checked Google and was happy to see that they're still there. Living in The Palisades in DC, this was always my go-to for all things hardware. The staff could always answer my questions and help me out.When my dad was in town, we inevitably would end up making a trip there for something. I think my dad just liked going there because it reminds him of good old fashioned hardware stores. Great place!!!
