Over the years Scott has trained and certified me, my 10 year old son, and now my 11 year old son in open water diving. For a sport like this it is critical that core learning of theory, gear and basic skills and practices are conveyed - when you’re on your own or on a dive, the number one person you need to rely on is yourself. There is no person I would trust more than Scott to convey these skills. His expertise is apparent and without question in the water and in the classroom. Beyond certifications Scott and the shop are an active part of the local diving community and you can usually find some of those members at the shop or helping out at classes. They’re all outstanding.
Arriving on the scuba diving scene rather late in life (62 years old), I had the notion that I would be a potential challenge as a dive student. Scott and his teaching team prove me to be totally wrong. They were very professional, patient, experienced, and knowledgeable. Plus I had a blast and got even more hooked on the sport. I just now have completed my first real diving adventure in Belize. I cannot emphasize just how amazing scuba diving is when you get to see it up close and personal. I cannot wait for my next trip.
This place is great! Scott is an excellent instructor whom really cares about his students safety and learning essential skills. I also have done additional courses with this shop to further improve my diving abilities. Lastly I have also been on Caribbean dive trip organized by the shop which was a blast. A in my book.
My experience with these owners was excellent, very straight forward, honest and informative. I feel that I got a good deal on all of my purchases there and was very helpful with everything. They know the business and have been diving for decades. I call them when I want good, solid advice.
Got my Open Water Certification from Scott at ScubaAdventures. Excellent instructor and very personable. Made the whole experience both enjoyable and extremely educational.
A friend and I signed up to take scuba lessons through this shop for 225, which included the books. We ended up finding a better deal elsewhere a month in advance, and had been previously been told that there was a 25% restocking fee (ie: 56.25 for the books). However, when we went to cancel, he only refunded 127.50 (50%), saying that he charged 56.25 for the books, then charged a 25% restocking fee on top of that! The books themselves are only worth 50, so there is nothing to "restock" if we pay the 56.25 to keep them! Plus the owner was very rude and threatened me with a lawsuit just for complaining! Misleading business practices, use a different dive shop.
