I have a family member who spent several months in this sober house. It is a structured program based on sound addiction treatment principles, dedication and sense of responsibility towards the clients. Small things mattered: the house was always clean and orderly, and people were overtly helpful and respectful. It is clear to me that these qualities were the foundation of the culture in the house. I recommend Barry's highly.

Having first hand knowledge of other Sober Living Homes around the state, Barry’s House goes above and beyond for the men trying to begin a new life. Barry’s House has a dedicated team that works closely with the residents to give them the care they need. Alumni who have gone through the house successfully choose to remain in the area and stay connected to the house. The men who come through this house are given the tools they need to be successful in their recovery. The structure and approach taken by the team at Barry’s House, I believe, makes Barry’s House one of the top Sober Living Homes in the state.

My boyfriend had been in and out of many detoxes and other programs and none of them seemed to work or help in anyway. Since living at Barry's, he has done a completely 180 and gave me the love of my life back. Barry's and the 12 steps definitely saved his life!

I moved into Barry's house after detox and a css program. It was a very warm and welcoming transition. Everyone, who currently lived there, were so kind and genuinely helpful. It was very clear that they had made great changes in their lives already, assuming that they had come from a lifestyle similar to my own. The owner and the house manager are 2 of the most wonderful, caring and honest people that I have ever met, and am so eternally grateful to have met and learned from them. I feel lucky to have them as friends and mentors to this day. They genuinely care about everyone who comes into the house, as they have shown through continued care and support after my departure from the house, upon completing my commitment to the house. I have tried to get and stay sober many times. In my personal opinion, based on my own experience and what I have witnessed with other alcoholics and addicts, the 12 steps, done thoroughly and honestly, is the best chance at making the change in ones life that is needed to recover from this chronic condition. I would strongly encourage anyone I knew who needs help, to go to Barry's house and fold themselves into this amazing community that I have been so blessed to be part of. -John Silver

When I moved into Barry’s house I was at the end of my rope. I had been through many detox’s and rehabilitation programs, and I had alienated my family and friends. I was hopeless when the men of Barry’s house spoke at the detox I was at. They gave me hope through their message of working the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. I moved in three days later. Barry’s house took me through the 12 steps, and in doing so, showed me how to live an honest and happy life. Anyone struggling with their addiction, or suffering from a life of drug and alcohol abuse, owes themselves the chance to get better. Barry’s house is the answer. Barry’s house and the 12 steps saved my life, and I have a large family to support that fact!
