Great location and beautiful property. The dog barks at guests, it barks at the trees, it barks at the sky. This place has screaming toddlers and infants that hate everything in sight. Thin walls and the cacophony of a preschool and a dog pound at 3am with rock-hard beds and a filthy jacuzzi overflowing with urine. Great location and beautiful property.

Came here just to camp at a nice spot and a view and this place far exceeded any expectations. The amenities at this hostel are amazing; instruments, billiards, and included breakfast. Staff are great and really nice (stupidly unprepared for how cold sleeping outside would be, they helped me with a ton of warm blankets). I've worked in Hostels before, this place is special. Thanks guys

I absolutely love this place! I was traveling solo so I am so thankful I booked here. It was like a community. We all had dinner together and painted and they were so sweet to my pup. The staff rocks!!! I cannot wait to come back. I felt like I was spending a weekend in a mountain house with friends. Thanks ITH!

Keep in mind this is a hostel. Every now and then, I like to stay in a hostel. The environment is different and you get to meet cool people from other countries. This hostel is just like any other ski lodge, cozy, warm feeling atmosphere. Friendly staff. We rented the king room with private bathroom. Again, for a hostel it's a great option. Stayed one night, dinner served was BBQ baked chicken with rice, bread and salad. Not bad. Breakfast wasn't as impressive, pancakes and coffee. Not very healthy. There are games to play with your fellow travelers. The location is central too. Definitely recommend this hostel for a quick weekend getaway, especially if you like to meet strangers from out of town and enjoy a social atmosphere. I do agree that you can hear easily in this lodge but I don't think it's too disturbing for one night.

We loved ITH and will be back. It was affordable, comfortable and I loved the community vibe. The fireplace was a plus as well. The staff was wonderful. If you're looking for a high-end hotel move on - if you want something more homey and warm, this is the place!

The ITH hostel in Big Bear was amazing! My boyfriend and I extended our trip in Big Bear and needed a place to stay last minute. This place was affordable and had great reviews so we decided to try it out. We had our own room with a very comfortable bed and Roku TV! We shared a bathroom which was not an issue because it was always clean and available when we needed it. I was even allowed to bring my dog which made the experience even more special. Our room even had a view of the lake. ITH offers a very communal environment with guitars in the main room to play and Yogi the dog that lives on site. They will even cook dinner for you for only 5 and free breakfast! Very magical place and would recommend to anyone stopping through Big Bear!

Fun and friendly staff. Nice lodging. Pool table and more to do in the lodge. Great views from the front porch. What i liked about the lodge. It's about 100 yards from the main road and up the hill side. A few pine trees but you can see Big Bear Lake. If you don't mind sharing a common Restroom/shower then you are missing out on a great place to stay.
