A hike we'll always remember. We started from the day-use lot 1 in Pfeiffer State Park. We took a lot of breaks to enjoy the scenery including the river, a thriving redwood forest and dense chaparral at the summit. The view of the Pacific Ocean was worth the effort.

This was my 1st same here I hiked it up to buzzards roost view point which was very beautiful and I'm pretty sure it would've been even more amazing if it wasn't so cloudy then you can see the whole Bay or beach but it was an overcast so you are unable to see it it would come and go it was very hot on the way up there are however sections with some shade there is a lot of poison oak so you have to be very careful! take some sunblock some bugs spray and a good sun hat and definitely some water to keep yourself hydrated. That was a very nice hike I loved it.

Went there just before the Thanksgiving 2020. A bit crowded but not too much, it actually made us novice family hikers more comfortable. Notable uphill part starts once you are in the loop. Went there with 4 and 5 yr old, no break till the view point. The view point nicely have several aemi-segregated areas, which seem to have worked well for a pandemic time with groups taking break at different spots. Also, cell phone signal got significantly stronger (att and google fi) at the view point.

Very cool outlook! The hike to the top is not too tough, but will definitely make you break a sweat. It takes about 30 to 45 mins to reach the top. The scenery along the way is excellent and beautiful. Lots of cool looking trees and birds to be spotted and admired. Lots of redwoods too! Make sure you wear done good hiking boots! The trail up to the top is marked well and there is no vertical climbing required. The trail is a series of switch backs to the top. Very serene at the top. I would recommend this trail and the scenery from the top.

The hike to the top was just intense enough to make you sweat, but relaxed enough to allow you to enjoy the trip up to the top. If you want the extra challenge, go right when the trail splits; otherwise take the left trail. Left trail is slightly less maintained, but maintained nonetheless, but offers a lighter hike to the top of the trail. Right trail is intense. A lot of switchbacks and much steeper inclines which will leave you feeling more accomplished when you reached the top, but absolutely more winded. Views from the top were amazing, but there was a large road and a lot of power lines which warranted the 4 stars. I loved the view of the opposite ridgelines and the uniqueness of the Western vegetation and chapparal habitat, but didn't love the closeness to the roads.
