Friendly, helpful staff. Great selection. Rented mountain bikes here and got some great bikes. They did a great job making sure we were properly tuned and knew where to go for some amazing mountain biking!

These bike guys are the best, really the BEST! I flew in from Seattle to get some miles in the sunshine. I flew in with my rode bike and while on a hill climb I dumped my gears and the derailleur wouldn't catch the last few lower gears, making my climb impossible. I turned around and went home, loaded my bike in the truck and went to Bike Works to see if they could fit in an examination on my bike and get me back out on the road for my final days on the island. Eric (Mr. Minnesota) made quick work on my gears and topped my tires off w/ some much needed air. He even showed me how to take the derailleur off and on w/ my multi tool. This benefit will be a game changer in an added safety layer to keep my from any damage in flight while in the bike bag. He gave me some awesome pro-tips to bike bag travel. He then showed me a map of some alternative bike routes for better views and distance. The customer service there is topnotch and I was nothing short of WOW'd. So grateful for you guys, THANK YOU!
Being a bike aficionado I was PUMPED to visit the iconic Bike Works of Kona. The store is all you could hope for! All the gear, supplements, services, and nutrition you could need. However, in terms of service the location really lacked. Employees were difficult to find, and less than interested to provide help.
These folks really give knock-your-socks-off service - a real pleasure to do business with them! Big, welcoming smiles when you walk in the door. Very helpful and knowledgeable. I had two bikes shipped over from the mainland and needed them put back together, cleaned, tuned, etc. They did a beautiful job and did it in just two days. Barron made a few recommendations (replace one brake, new seat . . .), which I appreciated. He also asked which bike shop in Long Beach, CA had dissembled and packed up the bikes (The Bicycle Stand) because he wanted to call and tell them what a beautiful job they had done. Can't say enough good things about BIKE WORKS!
Grant and the crew at Bike Works Kona are always so quick and professional. I’ve been shopping with them since 2004 and can’t recommend them enough! From every day sporty needs to random obscure stuff they always have just what I need!!

Had an amazing experience here. I came in with an advanced problem with my bicycle Which had a missing part from my flight. Farran took time out of his time off to help me out and even improvised to modify a part that was in stock to make it fit and get me on the road for my trip around the island. Super happy with the help I received and would recommend them to anyone, particularly advanced cyclists.
I opt to take my Orbea to Bike Works for tune-ups partially because I enjoy their store and have always been treated well there. When I arrived in Kona, my bike was my sole mode of transport. Over the years since then I have become a more and more avid cyclist, and find so much inner balance and peace from the act of cycling itself. I’m writing this because the last time I visited was particularly amazing. They helped me find a pair of bicycle shorts that fit well, and Alex, who worked on my bike, helped me find a way to make it fit my body better. After years of riding in what I now know for certain was a sub-optimal position, my bike feels personalized to me more than ever. Alex, in particular, was kind and patient with my requests and I am so grateful because my rides have gotten even better. Thank you so much.
