My husband has wanted a bird with talking potential for years. My search led me to Bird is the Word. Kara put us on a wait list and educated me on what may become available. I got the call soon after about a newly hatched South African Cape parrot. Kara kept us informed of his progress. We visited a few times. The employees were dedicated to making sure the birds were thriving. I found out they also groom and board, services I plan on using . \Apollo\ came home this week. He can step up, is accepting of new faces and interacts well. I would highly recommend this store to anyone new to bird ownership. I expect the seasoned bird owner would agree that the store has a great inventory and a well informed staff of bird lovers. Thank you Kara and co-workers for making my husbands wish come true!

Love this place!! We got a cockatiel from bird is the word for my sons birthday. They hand feed the birds so they are use to being handled. We also visited our bird every week and held it so it would use to us once ready to come home. We love our new bird Tweety and highly recommend this place. Staff is very knowledgeable

Love this place! My husband and I brought our cockatiel Bebe home from here not to long ago! He's not afraid of being handled at all, and they make sure their birds get fruit and veggies as well as seeds and other food for a well balanced diet. Our little guy is happy and healthy, and we've had great experiences with the store's products as well. Speaking of, they have a great selection of food, toys, and cages/ cage maintenance products, not to mention all of the different birdies they raise! It's a bit of a trek from where we live, but we gladly make the trip to support them :)

Love this place! Had been coming for years! They have a variety of different birds! Staff is always friendly and helpful and extremely knowledgeable of their birds! Highly recommend Bird is the Word!

Not too many bird stores are left and this one offers beautiful hand fed baby birds, a great line of large and small cages, and awesome toys. I have purchased a very healthy bird here and have been a client for over 10 years.
