Owner met us there at the shop and we had a huge crew, he was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Skis and snowboards of all sizes- he did run out of small kids helmets and proceeded to take two brand new ones ( he had for sale) off the walls to accommodate our needs. He is the cheapest rental in the state of Colorado. Amazing customs service!

I do not write reviews often, but this establishment is not well run. The owner is nice, but It was very disorganized and the equipment was in poor shape. I did rent from the store but when I got the equipment to the house we were staying at and inspected it I found in consistencies with the binding setting between each of my boots. During the rental process one of the fellow renters asked for different helmet because the one he was offered was cracked. I endup renting equipment in Idaho Springs and did not ski on the equipment from Black Diamond due to safety concerns. Please review my photos.

Came to this shop after buying a groupon good until June 2021. Owner also had handwritten sign posted saying he wasn't excepting groupons for March. I have read other reviews posted saying the owner was not accepting groupons and then gives a different rate, seems like a recurring scam. Ski and board equipment was ill-fitting and outdated, should have left after trying two different pairs of ski boots with broken clasps. If you want equipment from this decade go somewhere else. It's not a good deal.

This place has a wide selections of ski equipment and accessories. Tom has the best prices and is very knowledgeable about all equipment he has. I started as a beginner and 1st went to him for advice and equipment. He not only knows and recommends what equipment to use but is also a regular on the slopes. He is also into downhill speed skiing and knows what equipment for all ski conditions. He is excellent for ski tuning also. My wife and I go exclusively to Black Diamond sports every year for the past 6 years. Highly recommended!

I rarely write reviews but I would like to warn anyone renting from here. I usually prefer supporting mom and pop shops but this place was a huge disappointment. Absolute disarray. Four of us (beginner level skiers) had gone in to rent snowboards for the day. When we arrived we were met by Tom. At first I figured that he must have been behind, in a rush or maybe short handed. Gave him all the benefit of the doubt. He essentially fitted none of the boards appropriately and in all the rush I hadn’t noticed that my toe binding was broken until I got to the mountain. As well as my friends board that was fitted so poorly that the stance hurt, we both had to rent new boards. Still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt I figure we’ll just go back get a refund and chalk it up to a loss. Instead he acted in disbelief as if I wasn’t telling him the truth, until I showed that the ratchet wasn’t tightening. He then asked me for my receipt for the my rental at Echo Mountain. Since I couldn't find it (which shouldn’t even had been asked for- clearly the ratchet was broken and replaced with a children’s binding ratchet- information I learned from the people working at Echo) he offered me a free rental for next time. If you had just owned up to your short comings and had better customer service I would have given you another chance. The people paying for your service deserve more respect. There won’t be a next time Black Diamond rentals, one time was enough.
