Definite must stop and also must take the extremely short hike towards left. It was very misty but we got lucky and the mist rolled out within 15 mins. Very beautiful. If you have binoculars, that would be awesome. Do not miss this stop

We stopped at Glassmine Falls Overlook by accident on the way to Mt. Mitchell to catch a break from a scary snow squall that came up suddenly and battered us on the Parkway at Craggy Gardens. Although the Falls were not visible and the wind was brutal, the trail to the left of the Overlook was perfect for stretching and catching beautiful views of the valley below.
Beautiful landscape. Just be aware if no rain happened the day before your visit, the falls will be dry, hence you will just see a rock in the mountain.
Wish I had a better camera. Beautiful views.
Beautiful view even on a cloudy day!!!
Beautiful falls after a heavy rain, but non-exsistent otherwise. It is nowhere near 800 ft high, but still one of the tallest falls in the state.
After days of rain, these falls are really cascading. Bring your binoculars as they are a ways away. The view across the valley is beautiful, particularly in the fall.
