Absolutely horrible service. The workers leave trash in the streets adding to the litter problem in Prince George's. They will not put your trash can back where they got them from. I live in a cul de sac and I've watched multiple of the workers just throw my trash can and those of my neighbors to one side of the cul de sac without the decency to put them back where the got them.

Long story short, use American Disposal instead if you live in northern Virginia. Bates has been charging me multiple times after I canceled service with them. Background: I tried to start trash removal services with Bates when I moved into my new home (Sep. 2020). The week before I moved in I called Bates to have my service start when I moved in and was told that it would take 2 weeks to deliver my trash and recycling bins (red flag). I never received any bins nor any contact at all from the company after the two weeks passed, so I called customer service and asked to close my account, to which they said no problem and that they would refund me the 118 that was charged for the first 3 months of service. I switched to American Disposal that day, and they delivered my bins the following day. I thought this would be the end of the ordeal but it was not. Two months later (Nov 2020) the 118 charge from Bates was charged to my bank account again. I called Bates customer service who told me there was no record of me closing my account, so I filled out a cancellation form that they emailed to me that same day; they told me the account would be closed at the end of the month (still Nov.). It is now late January 2021 and my credit card has been charged yet again by Bates despite me never receiving any services from them whatsoever and after having closed my account two months earlier.
THEE WORST customer service. Trash doesn’t get picked up when it is supposed to be Garbage cans are dropped off in the street or close to a neighbors house Trash cans are broken Drivers drive recklessly through the neighborhoods. AND AGAIN, i can not stress how bad and incompetent the customer service is. DO NOT WASTE UR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY.
Sliding trash cans across the ground may be more efficient for you all but not when they’re hitting parked cars. Taking the extra few steps from the truck to the curb to put the trash cans back is not going to delay you by that much.
My car was hit by one of the truck it’s been 2 weeks already and they still haven’t resolved anything yet for me. Got video clip of the incident as well it looks like they don’t take things like this very serious.
