Blank Page Design Build just finished remodeling our kitchen and we are overall happy about the end product. The owner, Josh, provided us with excellent design that makes the most efficient use of the space in our kitchen. Communication with Nick and Josh is easy for the most part and they were very good at accommodating our busy schedule as working parents with a toddler. They were also able to meet with our aggressive timeline to finish both kitchen and family room remodel (including fireplace) in just over a month. However, there are a few areas that could be improved during the process. First, Blank Page could have better informed us that the contract price was the minimum cost and there might be significant additional cost for items not included in the initial contract. For example, a range of typical prices would have been helpful for our budgeting. Second, there was a lack of communication at the end where we had to keep a running list of items that need to be done to make sure they were actually done. It required a lot of effort on our end while working full time and we would have preferred to rely on Blank Page more to get everything done in time.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BLANK PAGE DESIGN. We hired them for a basement remodel that was initially scoped by them to take 2.5 months. We are now in the 7th month of the project (4 months after the estimated completion date) with 80% of the project complete, made our 2nd to final payment; and we cannot get a response from them and it has been more than a month since someone worked on our project. They essentially took our money and ran. Additionally, the final estimate for the project was 40% higher than the original estimate. We are working directly with the owner and still getting this level of service which has terrible implications for the level of service and character of the entire business. In fairness, they do solid work when they are doing work and the owner had some good design ideas. Too bad these pluses are completely eclipsed by a business that does not follow through with contracted commitments.
Had a great initial design meeting with the owner...really liked the ideas they had for updating our kitchen. But when I asked for the estimate be sent via email, they insisted on a second in person meeting. For a busy couple with competing priorities, this was not feasible until we had a better idea of the overall cost of the project. So I never heard back from them. It’s been over a month now...nothing. We have found another designer who is willing to be more transparent and forthcoming with costs.
Blank Page did an outstanding job with our shower and it is a work of art. Their work was perfect and I would highly recommend their company and their work. They are pleasant and efficient and completed their work promptly and efficiently. You will be very happy you hired them.
BUYER BEWARE. My mother hired this company to renovate her master bathroom and has paid almost 40,000 and it has been over a year and her bathroom is still not finished. The work, workmanship and attitude of the owner and project manager are abysmal at best. Not only has the workmanship been shoddy, but throughout the course of the project, the laborers hired to complete the work have damaged existing doors and cabinetry, the new soaker tub, new tiles and new light fixtures, incurring additional cost for my mother and most of this damage has yet to be fixed. Read the contract carefully, because they require arbitration to settle disputes and there is specific wording that prohibits litigation. Again, BUYER BEWARE!!! They have blocked my mother's phone number and they don't have an actual office space - it is a shared suite with office space to rent out, but they only use it as a mail drop. So there is literally no way to get a hold of them. Nice. Not sure how these people sleep at night.
