It’s sad I am O-Cmv- and have Covid antibodies. Want to donate blood and they make it more difficult to donate blood than without. Bizarre if you ask me.

Seems like they are always behind... typically wait 30-45 min after appointment time to get screened and started. A few times I have had to leave because I’ve run out of time. Disappointing that this is really the only option for donating blood in Alaska.
Get in and donate if you can. Great staff, wonderful cause plus free snacks!
Nice clean building, staff is very attentive, very positive experience! I've donated many times and it can be hit or miss with me and my veins. Tech got my vein first try and checked up on me to make sure everything went smoothly. Very comfy chairs and all the juice and cookies your heart desires.
Probably the most comfortable I've been while having my life sustaining fluids drained from me. Next up they just teleport the required amount out and hope you don't collapse! Fun!
I've been donating at BBA since 1995, mostly apheresis. The screening process can take long. Last time they called me to donate, I drove directly there, then they said I'd need to wait 30 minutes to start screening process. I don't feel my time is highly valued by the organization.
Disappointed in the wait time, even with an appointment. Per the staff, they are consistently understaffed and running below the levels that the building was built for. Per media accounts, most of the blood gets sent out of state instead of being used in Alaska because they are trying to pay for the fancy new building.
I would rather go out of state and donate before going back here again
