I have been a fan of AllNurses since I was in nursing school (I graduated in 2006). I remember there being SO many nurses who helped me with the questions I didn't know as a nursing student. Now, many years later, I help produce content for them to help nurses along the way. I have worked closely with Mary and Sari who were both fantastic, caring people. I recommend AllNurses to ALL NURSES I know. :)
Another horrible nursing group that allows members to go on personal attacks against other nurses. Profoundly unprofessional. They also tolerate and encourage nurses to berate others than consequence people for responding. This organization is actually a good indicator of everything that is wrong with healthcare and nursing in general. This organization is in place to make money and nothing else. For example if you happen to have been put through incredible hardships after losing losing your job to bring unsafe practices forward and you reach out for some support the first response you will get is from one of their members going on a incomprehensible nasty personal attack. I respond that nurses like this are the root cause of nearly every problem in the field. I get blocked for that response, she continues to spread hatred with an open account. People need to know what you are getting when you log into this site. If you engage in the site then you are also part of the problem until they address their leadership.
Allnurses inspires new nurses and those of us who have been practicing for a long time. There is a broad range of topics, everything from in depth educational topics to reactions regarding current events. It is a great place to share, to unite, to discuss and to find the joy of nursing once again!
Allnurses has always been a great resource for me no matter where I'm at in my nursing career. Whether it's reading great articles, or asking questions to nurses working in an area I'm considering, the information is invaluable.
