Was greeted by one of the sales rep, didn’t get her name because we left as quickly as we came in. She was blonde with glasses, older woman. She greeted us , my husband and I told her we had a strict budget and informed her of the budget. She preceded to tell us “you can go to rooms to go down the road, that’s where you belong” Us being people of color and very offended, I let out an exclamation gasp. She then tried to correct herself by saying “well no, that’s where you’ll find better that fits your budget.” Then she quickly tried started to help other patrons that came in. Although we had a budget we were paying cash for our couch set and she still would’ve made off of my husband and I. After leaving, she made us feel as if she was doing us a favor and not the opposite.

I have purchased thousands of dollars of furniture from Haverty’s in the past three years. In January, I purchased a chair for my mothers new assisted living apartment. We were able to choose the fabric and the trim color and I was told it would take approximately four weeks for delivery. It took over 8 weeks but at least it was finally here. I went to look at it and it had defects in the wood trim on the top. They agreed it was bad and called in the manufacturer who also agreed it was bad and re-ordered the chair. That would take another eight weeks and then the pandemic hit. Finally seven months later the chair was finally ready. My poor mother had no chair all this time. I went in to look at the chair and to my dismay after all this time it had the same defects on top. The manager said that apparently that’s the way they make it. He said the chair in their showroom had a very slight seam but agreed it was much more noticeable with the dark wood trim but he couldn’t do anything further. I am sorry but this is a split in the wood trim that is completely unacceptable. Please look at the photos I attached and judge for yourself if you think that's acceptable. You can go into any store, including their own, and look at every single chair with wood trim and none of them will have split seams on the top. The manager, William, said that he would refund my money minus a 20% restocking fee. I am furious that although he agrees the chair looks bad - and it does - they are withholding 20%. I had only put down a deposit but they are charging me 20% not only of the sales price, but 20% of the sales tax and 20% of the protection plan! They are just keeping my money. This is very bad business I’m afraid they’ve lost a customer for life.
Nicole was great and walked us through the store via FaceTime video so we didn't have to be concerned with going to a store during the pandemic. She also followed up with us immediately on email. Nicole represented Havertys very well!
It was a very positive experience working with your rep John. He was terrific. Knowledgeable and friendly, he represents you very well. Not pushy, very patient with us while we asked many many questions.
My husband and I had been on the hunt for the perfect couch. We are so thankful to have found Sharon at the Boca store. She was super helpful and walked us through our entire purchase start to finish, with a follow up call after delivery. Highly recommend them for any of your furniture needs!!
