Rudest sales associate I have ever encountered. Just moved to the neighborhood and had hoped this would be my go to gift shop, however after two consecutive unpleasant experiences with the same sales associate I will have to keep looking. After being shouted at from across the shop, addressed in an extremely rude and annoyed tone, and embarrassed in front of other customers I still took the time to thank the sales associate for his help and made a purchase. Did not receive so much as a no problem let alone a “you’re welcome.” My first experience I was treated similarly, and my boyfriend was also completely and noticeably ignored by the sales associate which was extremely bizarre and uncomfortable. I really love supporting small, local, and especially woman owned businesses however after being treated so poorly and with such hostility, as a repeat customer, I don’t think I’ll be able to shop there again.
Absolutely appalling customer service! I don’t think I have ever been treated so disrespectfully in a place of business. Unless you don’t mind being followed around the store like you are going to steal something or damage their items, don’t shop here. The employee even yelled at me across the store to not touch a box of chocolates then tried to accuse my son of breaking a lollipop! I offered to pay for it, but he loudly made it clear he did not want us in the store. I wasn’t the only person treated this way at the time. Another woman (of color) was treated similarly while I was there for touching a bar of soap! I cannot tolerate discrimination and racism. I live in the South End neighborhood and have shopped in this store before, but I will never go back. I will also make sure my neighbors and other business owners know about this experience.
