Hello my name is Michael I don't think there are any words in the dictionary to describe my experience with Saint Francis House was nothing but impeccable to make a long story short they gave me hope and a sense of direction a life pretty much a step up in life I almost forgot to mention the nurses on the second floor and there are amazing.

I owe quite a lot to St. Francis House. I have used it as my mailing address for years at a time. I have eaten breakfast and lunch here many, many times over the years. I can't relate the feeling of relief a cup of hot coffee can bring on a winter morning. I have much respect for all the volunteers and regular staff who come together each day to provide hot, nutritious food to hundreds of Boston homeless. They also offer showers in the mornings, Monday through Friday. They also have a sign-up to receive clothing and shoes. They have a foot clinic as well, which encourages people to soak their feet and keep them clean and you leave with ointments, bandages and clean socks. They offer daytime shelter, from, I believe, 7am - 3pm. They have outlets to charge phones, computers for all manner of resource, they have phones for calling family, job prospects, or for whatever. And my favorite, they have an art therapy room that's open certain times and provides a calm refuge from the chaotic world of homeless living. They also offer the services of case managers and certain satellite programs like MAP (Moving Ahead Program), which supports clients in navigating the work force and finding meaningful employment. While enrolled in MAP, they will pay the cost of a sober living facility or halfway house. I'm sure there is much I left out or don't even know about. If you are homeless in Boston, this place is a Need-to-Know, lifesaver.
