I attended the T.E.F.L. certification program and found the trainers to be of the very best quality. From the first moment you enter the class, you and your fellow participants are part of the action. The lessons are taught in an interactive way and model what the trainers hope you will emulate in your own lesson creations. This is the best in experiential education. To reinforce your lesson planning, you are given multiple opportunities to teach adult English language learners in their regular classes. What you learn during the training gets you started and the institute provides support and advice when you need it to further your career. I am very happy I was told about this program and took part in their training.

I took a one month TEFL course at this school, and my experience at the Boston Language Institute was phenomenal. The trainers provided an overview of what I could expect in classes I would teach, and shared their own teaching experience and insight. The feedback provided was helpful and positive, pointing out the many things I was doing right as well as areas in which I needed improvement. The staff as a whole were responsive to my needs, and I was provided with all of the assistance I needed to successfully complete the program, including a stunning portfolio, within a little over a month's time. I now feel prepared and eager to teach ESL classes at home or abroad. I felt welcomed at the Boston Language Institute from the open house reception to the last day (both of which featured free food!) and would recommend the school to anyone seeking her TEFL certificate.

I took two courses at the Boston Language Institute in early 2015 -- a language course in Japanese, and the TEFL program. Both were great! I got a basic command of Japanese and I got a certification that allowed me later to work in a foreign country. All throughout this process the instructors were helpful and friendly. Note for the TEFL course: The instructors are quite tough markers, and this is an excellent thing. If you're not producing what they want they will let you know and tell you exactly how you can improve. I can't tell you how helpful this was in forming me as an instructor. I don't know what else to tell you: this is an excellent place to learn how to speak another language, or to teach your own. I recommend to sign up today.

l came here to learn Spanish in 2013. Staff was pretty non-helpful when l had questions about the course. They acted like 'Well, it's a language course, what else could you want to know?' lt was about 300 for a semester, and quite frankly, it was a ripoff. Class sessions were brief and minimal, and didn't involve any kind of extracurricular activities or real world practice. We took home a couple of incredibly easy worksheets. We covered probably 10% or less of the text book material. This was a very boiled-down, rudimentary crash course in Spanish, and essentially ended up being mostly self-taught anyway. Certainly not worth the money. You might as well use Duolingo daily, read a few text books and practice with people for free. The best part was the teachers, by far. Marisol and Joe were both great, genuine people who were fun to learn with. Unfortunately they were winners on a losing team.

The TEFL Certificate program is a rigorous one, and there have been times over the last year when I have questioned not only my stamina, but my sanity in enrolling in the first place. But I am glad I did. I have had the honor and privilege to meet and work with other like-minded individuals who care about helping others improve the quality of their lives through language. My fellow classmates, the instructors and staff at BLI, and the ESL students have taught me a great deal about teaching, learning, dedication, generosity of spirit, and the value of hard work well-done. The staff is knowledgeable, experienced, perceptive and intuitive, about the program, its clients and the students it serves. Once you complete this course, you can do anything else in your life you once thought was too difficult. One caveat to consider before enrolling: make sure you don't have too much going on in your life, commitment-wise. This course demands a great deal of time, thought, effort, energy-more than you can imagine. Give this course the attention and focus it deserves and you will be rewarded many times over. It is worth it, and then some.

Boston Language Institute has dedicated teachers and trainers that go the extra mile for the students. The curriculum is solid, and the training is very effective! I highly recommend it! This is one of the great original language schools on the East Coast!

The program is outstanding in every aspect. The teaching modules are well conceived, practical and useful. The instructors are uniformly excellent. Very good, approachable and willing to help in any way. The Institute will provide ongoing support as well.

Best teaching course I've every had. I took the Intensive 4-week program and, though exhausted, loved it. The staff was excellent and available. All aspects of teaching ESOL/ESL covered. Every week I was required to prepare a lesson, teach a class and listen to the critique of a teacher and my peers. The program gives you the techniques and information to succeed and I've been an ESOL teacher for the past 5 years. Highly recommend.
