Whether you live or you are passing by it's well worth it to cross across the Fenway Garden and take in the community's charming urban farm plots. Although I never ventured to own the land I always made a point to cross over on my way from Fenway to Newbury Street. This would make a great date walk idea or a meditative morning walk if you're up to combine it with some food!

It is very cool to see the diversity of the individual plots. As others have pointed out, some are meticulously groomed and cared for, while (thankfully just a few) others are slightly less well taken care of. There are enough trees scattered around to grant some basic relief from the summer sun, and the rows have wood chips laid down for walking through, so mud and dirt are at a minimum. The garden's colors are beautiful. No real facilities, including seats of any kind, so this may be a destination where you need a green thumb to enjoy it fully.
A very well designed and organized community garden with beautiful private gardens to appreciate. Easy to walk around, near Fenway Park and many shops and places to eat.
Absolutely gorgeous private little gardens. However, since these are private garden patches, visitors cannot enter inside those spaces. But that doesn't mean we can't stroll through the walkways that go around and between them! Taking a stroll here is a pleasant experience.
Beautiful gardens right in the middle of town. We had a plot with FGS for 2 years and thoroughly enjoyed our time with nature here. The FGS community is friendly and helpful if you are starting off as a new gardener.
