This place has a great vibe, great rooftop seating, great beer selection. The food that I've had here has been pretty mediocre, definitely nothing to write home about. The poutine has been my favorite. The fish and chips was very bland, most potent flavor was fry-oil.

The 2 star rating is an amalgamation. On the plus side, the service, ambiance, etc. was fine. Kind of noisy since the hardwood floor echos EVERYTHING. The minus? While they did comp my meal, the reason they did this was because of serving me obviously undercooked chicken. If I go back, it'll be for the pretzels. Easily the best ones I've ever had.

Very good but just needs a little push to be great. Flavor of the Pine Top Ale had the spruce notes and flavors without over powering. The mussels with chorizo was excellent. Deep broth flavor and French fries were hot and crispy. I liked the lemon aioli. Fish and chips were great too. Nice mix of shrimp and fish with light batter. French fries again with turnips? fried chips too. Flank steak salad had the steak more very rare rather than medium rare. It could have used more seasoning as well. Chimichurri on steak could use more flavor. Service was okay. Had to ask for water refill. Next time I’m in town I’ll go back. Restaurants are just ramping back up from Covid and I’ve got fingers crossed for my next visit.

The service was friendly, quick, and we were checked on for food quality. The food was yummy. We will be back. Hopefully I will be able to sit up top one of these days.

Killer brews and foods, oh my. Super chill spot that's taken over a vintage building outside downtown Reno. A lot of brews on tap, see attached chalkboard for latest summer brews 2019. TVs for games, booths, high top bar seating, a killer rooftop dining area and 2 big takes flanking the atrium entrance for when it's windy. ATM, fireplaces and gracious servers round out so you have what you need for a great time! Snapple cap fact: they have a well from being an ice company in the past and that well provides the amazing water for everything here including the brewery.

Best French onion soup in Reno. Great mussels, great fries, and the Irish beef stew special was quite good. And the beer...

I have to try not to drool on my keyboard as I write about the delicious meal I had at BSJ. We started with the poutine with pulled pork and mushroom gravy-outstanding. After the apps were ordered I realized I had ordered steak frites, so more fries. I asked if we could sub the portobello fries. They said, for a small upcharge, no problem. Great service. Loved the “can do” attitude. And the filet mignon was fantastically prepared with a brandy and green peppercorn sauce. I honestly did not expect food this good from a Brew Pub. Bravo, Brasserie Saint James!!
