My family and I, have been doing our part to support more black businesses; so we decided to go to the Breakfast Bar. I did my do diligence before heading downtown, by checking Google and their website for any special instructions, due to the pandemic; I saw none. We get to the restaurant, only to see a sign that said reservations only; after paying a lot for parking. The server said, it was on their website. I pulled up the website, and it did not state that; nor did it say it on Google. She believes that, the tab to schedule a reservation is communicating to the public that they are only doing reservations. I guess no one else understands simple, clear communication. Other establishments websites states their operations once you click on the page; I guess this establishment doesn't understand that. This put a bad taste in our mouth, and I will NEVER come back; and probably stop our quest to support black businesses. Do better, and you might be as successful as the white establishments!!

I've tried this establishment from its inception. I can't believe they've gotten even better. I've had fried lobster and waffles, my Godson had their juicy cheese burger, I ordered from home to try their Collard Greens & fried catfish (ate it too fast and forgot to take pics), and it was outstanding. I can tell there's a special chef preparing these meals with passion and love here. I'm pretty picky too. Right downtown mpls with easy off street parking. They're open Thursday-Sunday. Definitely highly recommended.
Love this place, it's a real gem in the Twin Cities adding the great flavor in each serving and in the city. They have a comprehesive menu ranging from old southern favourites, such as the Catfish & Grits, as well as universally admired chicken and waffles. Owner is solicitous and pleasant. Atmosphere is very vibrant and well decorated.
Big fan, highly suggest coming here for the experience. Food is great, it’s not a normal restaurant, you’ll have fun just drinking a few drinks. Servers 5 stars. Manager is a great human... come here. I’m a regular person writing this because good people deserve the hype. Well done x10
I’ll give it two stars because the food was good but I won’t ever be back AGAIN. We had a birthday reservation for 7pm and some of our members of the party was running 8 minutes behind and they claim to charge 20 around 7:20pm, but that was a LIE. One of the server claimed at 8:30 they charge 20... our friend got there at 7:47 and the guy charge him 20. We saw the dude put the money in his pocket and it’s just AWHOLE A LOT IF LIES. We was so happy to go here because it’s black owned but NEVER again. Also, they was rushing us to leave AFTER we tipped our server very well, which Jazzy was the BEST. Y’all need to do BETTER! Y’all are so unprofessional and big liars including money hungry as well.
