Chief Joseph Dam is one of the Army Corps of Engineers mammoth projects. I have early childhood memories of being out on that walkway in front of the spillway hoping I didn't get swallowed up by the torrent. There is still plenty to do around this Dam with ample parks, viewpoints, and Powerhouse tours. I just took my grandsons there where we checked out the lower Spillway viewpoint. The dam's size confronts you there.

Chief Joseph Dam is a way cool place this place is beautiful , I love this place . The fishing here some days is amazing . I love fishing from my boat here . I fish in a few different places here , i call the floats on the chain that keep you away from the dam . The Pop Cans . This is my favorite spot to fish there. i use pop gear with wedding bands and night crawlers trolling . If the fish are biting it's amazing , I only go back and forth on the pop cans to get fish . Second spot i will troll up the River just up from the boat launch on the same side not far from the boat launch . I call that the cliff , I'll just troll back and forth there . I have fished here so many times I know where the fish seam to hang out abit. This fishing I do is on the upper part of the dam ruffus woods side . The park here is sweet . The boat launch is beautiful so way cool.
