I have been using brighten freight for 17 years and I dont know why. At first I had to deal with a very difficult customs broker and I kept getting told he is just old and grumpy etc.. etc... Allen would always calm me, I really like Allen and he has probably been the only thing keeping me with this company all these years. As Allen moved up in the company I delt with him less and less. I had a decent number of years where I was happy with their new broker but then the real drama started. I had an outstanding invoice and the issue was that I was unclear of what was owed. I had paid for the invoice to my knowledge and the girl I was dealing with didnt understand what I asked her numerous times and it just spiraled out of control until they basically held my shipment over my head and refused to ship it unless I paid. Keep in mind I bring in a 40ft container every single month for 17 years with these people and had another shipment currently in route so they had no worries about getting their 3k. They had a 100K shipment of mine on the water they could have held over my head but instead they delayed my shipment and cost me about 800 in storage fees over the weekend. I had an issue wiring them the money friday and couldnt get them the money till monday and I told them that and they still screwed me. The staff is all chinese and if you want to feel like you are dealing directly with china you will! Half the people dont understand what the heck you are saying and it causes irritation and confusion. I would not recommend this company. I will give them credit that they do know how to properly clear aa shipment but they severely lack customer service.

Tried calling to get a truck to come pick up the parts for their customer but doesn't seem like they want to get paid for the work. Customer service help was not all there.
