The food was just ok. I ordered several different things on the menu. I like to see if it's just one thing that are good at, or if it's overall great. The pulled chicken, pork and ribs were good, but there was no BBQ char or smoke flavoring. The sides that we ordered were all lack luster (mac&cheese- cold flavorless, corn poppers very oily. Potato salad pictured is mine) . The standouts to me were the cole slaw and tangy BBQ sauce. I think if they just switched up a couple of things they could really improve the quality of food. As of right now, it's just something to eat and it tastes like they stopped trying.

We went here for the first time today and it won’t be the last, even though it is a hike from home. First, it is clean clean clean. Dining room, ladies room, exterior. They have tents set up outside for overflow. Second, the people are top notch. We were greeted and seated quickly. Service was great, our waiter was super attentive. Everyone was real, and I felt at home. Finally, the food was awesome. Food was fresh, hot and extremely tasty. The portion sizes are very good and the prices are super reasonable. For example, I ordered a small brisket sandwich for 4.99 and granted, I don’t eat a huge amount at one sitting, but it filled me up, just the sandwich! Truly, between the food and the people, this place is a gem. And it is local! Local owners, part of the community (even have a parking spot reserved for Purple Heart recipients.) I am so glad we found it.
This was mine and my husband’s first time here, absolutely loved it. We kinda went in with a “We’ll see” attitude, but were so impressed. Staff was amazingly friendly, great hospitality. The food was delicious with generous portions and perfectly priced. We will definitely be coming back and I can’t wait to bring our family here when they visit next month.
Brock’s BBQ is hands down the best bbq I’ve had while in Virginia. This establishment has been open since the 70’s and has stayed true to its original recipes. The food is always correctly prepared and if it’s not, they’ll gladly remake it on the spot for you. I highly recommend getting the family pack so you’ll have extra later. Buffet wise, you’re going to want to grab the bbq chicken which is triple coated in bbq sauce. Don’t miss out.
I like the minced pork BBQ. I do with it was a tad more fine minced. Its a long drive to get there so we don't go often. Normally we do take out but we have eaten inside as well.
