one of the last of the Dancehall 1933 I think great staff excellent food and a fantastic atmosphere when you go in the back to the Dancehall well let me just say it's something you have to see to come to Austin and go here you won't regret it make it one of your stops for sure

If you're from out of town the Broken Spoke is a place you definately need to visit. It is known as the Best Little Honky Tonk in Texas. It is open for lunch and you can't go wrong If you order the chicken fried steak or a hamburger. If you like listening to live music this is your place. There is live country music Tuesday through Saturday.

Broken Spoke has a rich history to it. I'm sure you could go and enjoy an evening of music and dancing, and enjoying the atmosphere. However, the spoke of the wheel isn't the only thing broken here - the food was less than desirable, and was twice as offensive for the price for that quality of food. When George Strait used this place on the cover of an album, I'm certain he never tried the food. Give it a chance if you want to dance, but dont make food a priority - or perhaps any part of your visit.

Haven't been to the Broken Spoke since the 70s. Except for the buildings around it, it hasn't changed a bit.
