Excellent went for zoo lights, even thou it was cold, I had a good time. I was invited by a good friend so i took the wife! The lights were awesome. The previous week I did illumination at Morton Arboretum and it was whack...Brookfield Zoo was much better and cost less. Glad I was invited, truly enjoyed myself! Definitely a must see.

Best Zoo in the Chicagoland area. Lots of amazing animals and round the year events that makes you keep visiting this place again and again!
This zoo is absolutely amazing for people of all ages. Beautiful zoo and very well taken of animals and exhibits. I love that they have trash/recycling cans literally everywhere. The zoo is super clean and the staff is wonderful. They offer multiple food/snack locations. They have parks for the kids to play and lots of picnic benches. They offer scooter/stroller rental. I highly recommend visiting Brookfield Zoo as it is truly extraordinary!
Great experience at zoo lights for the first time in years! I only wish Brookfield Zoo would always do timed tickets to prevent the absolute debacles in previous years of sitting in local traffic for 3 HOURS in order to turn into the zoo parking lot! This time, I drove straight into the lot with just 1 car ahead of me in line. It was a Christmas miracle! I went on a Sunday around 3:45 and stayed until about 6pm, and it was definitely starting to get more crowded as the time passed. The trick for a more enjoyable, less crowded experience is to get in early (before 4:30) and leave before 6:30. The lights are indeed beautiful, but seemed more sparse in comparison to other light experiences. I LOVED the tunnel of light! It was very visually engaging and perfectly timed to the music. Only downside is there was no one regulating the crowd at the tunnel entrance and people were packing in too tightly. Another downside is there were far too little places to get food/drinks. During my visit I saw only 2 places serving food, but due to the limited ticketing, the wait wasn't too bad (bout 15-20 minutes). Hot tip: the mini food shack at the south entrance has Starbucks drinks (but not the full menu). Great hot cocoa (very hot at first, especially for kids) and they have some lattes and mochas too. Overall great time and over 90% of people complied with mask rules. One guy didn't and actually coughed while walking past us! Other than that, we had a great time!
It is was wonderful to get out during the pandemic. You cannot go into the houses so during the winter the animals you can see are the ones used to cold weather. Had a great hamburger outside by the Wilderness exhibit. Remember, you need to go online to make a reservation for an arrival time. Addendum: Zoo is open again March 1
