This is a wonderful place, Kate-Sensei and the rest of the staff do a great job of communicating Japanese culture and the serious side of Aikido while also relating very well to kids and making it fun and interesting for them. The result is my child has continued to be very inspired.

Awesome teachers. Instruction attracts a wide international community. Kids and adults come to develop their minds, bodies, and spirits. Immersive live-in opportunities offered. Dedicated students. Outstanding experience.

This really is a very special community. The training is intense and rigorous, but incredibly generous at the same time. There is a tremendous spirit to this place that you simply should experience for yourself. "Life and death are grave matters. Don't waste your time."

for me.....life changing... Regardless, there is a great community in the dojo that has been built around traditional, serious, and strong training. The chief instructor and assistant instructor as well as many senior students do not hold back in putting their sweat, energy and heart into this place. An oasis in the chaos of the city.

the crew is extremely professional. The teacher is attentive to all and treats us all like family. He is an incredible and talented Sensei. I highly recommend this experience to anyone. It is truly life changing!

The Brooklyn Aikikai is one of the most remarkable institutions to which I've ever belonged. The head instructor has created a community that is welcoming, compassionate, kind, and devoted. The training is physically and psychologically intense and rewarding. It is a place and a group of people that inspires me to live a better kind of life. Certainly if you are looking for rigorous and traditional training in Aikido, this is the place to be. The BA also teaches Zen and Misogi. The head instructor teaches all the classes except when he is traveling, and the senior students are fantastic.

Love the traditional martial arts spirit of this school. Strong work outs are the norm but the energy coming from the instructor and the students gets you through. I train in the adult and my son trains here in the children's classes. Kids classes are well structured, very instructional and help keep him strong, active and lay the foundations for a good transition into adult classes if he wants to continue.
