Court 16 is outstanding in every way imaginable. Prior to our family leaving NYC we had both of our young boys enrolled in weekend private lessons at the Brooklyn location. We miss it a lot! The non-teaching staff are courteous, professional and commercial. The teaching staff - in our case primarily Jamie and Kelly - are adept at working with young children, and drive the right mix of safety focus, sound instruction, and competition in their students. The facilities are specifically sized for kids, and the decor and wide open space make families feel welcome. As a perk of membership the monthly movie nights at Court 16 afford Mom & Dad the opportunity to drop the kids off for some (free for members) fun amongst their fellow students. I would not hesitate to recommend Court 16 for families with children of all age and skill level. If tennis is something you are considering for your kids, Court 16 is a worthy investment to get your kid(s) exposed to an amazing sport that is well taught in a fun, safe and inviting manner.

I've been going to Court 16 for about 16 months and think it's terrific. I started with beginner lessons with Nick and then quickly went up to intermediate lessons. Nick is a terrific instructor- he's great with fundamentals, he's very positive and encouraging and has a really upbeat energy. The staff that work with him are organized and helpful in helping me set up classes and when I occasionally have had to cancel classes. The last time I bought a pack of classes I received a really great tennis racket for free as well. The space is clear and easy to get to. Many of my friends have kids who take lessons- in the age range of 8-12 and the parents and kids really enjoy it for youth as well. The prices are also vert reasonable. I highly recommend Court 16 for adults and kids.
Court 16 has quickly become one of my favorite places in Brooklyn. After going to the US Open (and seeing Serena lose--ahh!!), I was curious about picking up tennis. I signed up for adult beginner classes on Saturdays and was immediately hooked. It was so fun to *play* as an adult and it was fun to get better and better week after week. The coaches (especially Nick, who is also the director of tennis) are fantastic--so supportive, technically on point, and friendly. I eventually added on a weekday class and moved up to the intermediate level. This enabled me to feel confident when I moved to a court for the first time (with a friend I met at Court 16!). Will definitely be going to Court 16 to keep practicing my new-found skills.
We have been members of Court 16 since its opening. The coaching of very young children has been amazing. Not only is it a great place to learn this amazing sport, but it's such a friendly and professional environment full of cool families! Our oldest son cannot wait to be out of Covid-19 isolation to go back hit the ball at Court 16: he's been missing that and begging to go play! I personally also love the adult classes! Great coaches for technique and strategy... it's been a weekly oasis and best work out.
