Highly recommended, great social atmosphere, very friendly staff, nice location. Not a chaotic 'party' hostel, but you'll definitely have a good time here. They added a pool for us to cool off and it made the experience way better than expected. Definitely staying at funky Buddha hostel next time we're in the city.
This is a great spot. It's a Great location next to prospect park and Nostrand Ave. The bunk beds are comfy and the Host is very nice and welcoming. Pretty relaxed spot with outdoor seating to chill and he makes eggs sandwiches in the morning with juice and coffee.
This place is awful . I didn't take a shower it was so gross the first day , thought it would better the next day. It was full of dirty water that someone hasn't drained the next day. There is a homeless guy working, living here who seems mentally ill . It's 57 to not have a shower and listen to a very off sad young guy . I don't think it's a legal hostel.

Great Hostel near a subway. A little dirty but nothing to be afraid of. I slept really well even when it is deadly hot when I was in NYC.
Best hostel in NYC if your a traveler and want the real hostel experience, it's incredibly easy here to meet friends because everyone's really open and friendly, good deal for what you pay, good sleeping, clean. Everyone's really chill, nice area to hang, stores all around with good cuisine and real close to the subway. I'll be staying here again my next visit to NYC.
