When the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel (formerly Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel) opened in 1950, it was the longest continuous underwater vehicular tunnel in North America. It still is. I did not immediately figure out how to pay for the passage through the tunnel. The Bill was send by e-mail and 9.50 charged high compared to E-ZPass 6.12.

Looking for beautiful place.
Moves fast except when they do two in Manhattan bound tunnel in afternoon slows everything down
Great tunnel 6 out if 10 as far as tunnels go
It’s very nice.
Usually great if you take the outermost right tunnel's right lane. Otherwise you will get stuck in the left lanes heading to the FDR. This tunnel is easily accessible by BAE from Ocean Parkway and HOV lane. Taxis whiz by traffic Monday-Friday 6:00am to 10:00am. All they need is 1 passenger in the car.
Nice tunnel. Didn't leak! Popular
Way too convenient for the riders lives in brooklyn and staten Island.
