I was disappointed. I ordered Spicy Grilled Chicken Yellow Rice and Beans and Sweet Plantains. Food was poorly prepared and chicken was tough and not spicy or grilled.

Sophies is always good, lil pricier than typical spanish food...but worth it

I have been here twice. The first time was late in the evening and it was empty. The food was good and the service was great. However today during lunch time things are very different. Where do I begin? Well I’m African American . As I approached the counter whoever was supposed to take my order decided to walk away for no apparent reason. When Caucasian people approached their orders were taken ahead of me although I was on line and in front of them. I could only laugh about it. But I was sarcastic and asked why did you walk away when I approached? Of course there was no response. Caucasian people also get the “How are you greeting?” I didn’t. After my order was made the cashier attempted to ring it up but she asked the Caucasian people that had bulldozed their way ahead of me. Before I could answer she had already put down my order was inquiring as to what their order was. I finally got my order paid and added some more sarcasm. I don’t judge or hate any race of people, I simply take each experience in life as a lesson. Interpret it how you like but this was my experience. I’m not angry just annoyed and that pretty much spoils lunch. When at Sophie’s be aware! Don’t judge the food but weigh the experience you receive from the people who are serving you. I wouldn’t even waste my time speaking to a manager or otherwise. I have been in this situation many times. But this is probably my first time sharing.

Don't try the Cuban sandwich. You will not be pleased. No mayo, just a slice of pickle that was paper thin, roast pork was dry and tasteless and the ham seemed burnt. So sorry I wanted 10 on this. The other food looked appetizing but I will not be going back.
