The Wedding Dresser saved my wedding! I decided a month prior to tie the knot with an intimate ceremony in my parents backyard instead of having a large November party (Covid, sigh). I bought my dress from BHLDN and it came way too large. Seeing as it was the last dress of that style and time was ticking - I was in quite a pinch. When I came to the Wedding Dresser, all my worries faded away. The final result was absolutely stunning. Instead of three visits, the Wedding Dresser got the job done in two and I felt extremely confident walking down the aisle. I even bought a hair piece from her shop. Overall, super nice and easy experience.

I had a horrible experience at this alteration shop. My wedding dress was beautiful and very intricate. I knew that only an experienced alterer would be capable. I found Susan “the wedding dresser” to be unprofessional, lazy, and condescending. She gave me a ridiculous quote! After I agreed to pay that quote she told me it would be too much work for her alterers. She literally said it would be impossible to have what I wanted and dismissed me. I left feeling very discouraged. A week later I found a super friendly small wedding dress alteration shop in the city who did the “impossible” and exceeded my expectations for half of the price. Susan was the rudest person I encountered during all my wedding planning and prep. No bride should be made to feel that way before their big day. I would never recommend her to anyone, especially if you have a more-than-basic wedding dress.
The Wedding Dresser was recommended by a friend who also used them for her wedding. Susan and her team are great! They are very professional and great at what they do! My appointments were always on time and quick (in a good way). My dress fitted me so well and I'm so glad that I went to them for my alterations! Also in comparison to other places, they were not as costly (my dress had many layers and delicate beading). However, I think it's also reasonable to spend more on alterations as you want to make sure that your dress will be in good hands. Thank you Susan and The Wedding Dresser team!
I cannot recommend The Wedding Dresser enough! I had my gown custom made by Anomalie who recommended The Wedding Dresser to me for alterations. Susan and her staff are so helpful and talented - my dress could not have fit more perfectly! I honestly was so impressed with the way the dress hugged my curves in all the right places. I've never felt more beautiful in my life -- all thanks to the incredible work of The Wedding Dresser team!
Susan, Tressa, Schuyler and the crew at The Wedding Dresser helped me to make my wedding dress dreams come true. I wasn't excited to wear my dress until they were done with it! They were able to make time for me with my crazy work/NYC schedule and spent numerous hours with me planning placement, design, and fit to make my dream dress come true.
